Closing Procedures

If you choose not to make optimum use of your spa and prefer closing it for the winter, we suggest that you continue to maintain it until closing time and have a complete test of your water done in-store. Do not turn off the filtering system prior to winterizing the pool in order to protect equipment against freezing and to maintain clear water.

PROCEDURES

  • Turn off the water heater thermostat
  • Drain spa using the pump on low speed
  • Remove cartridges from the skimmer
  • Connect a garden hose to the drain valve and open the drain valve completely
  • When the water level is half-way up the bottom drain, stop the motor and remove the rest of the water using a plastic pail
  • Store the jet pump indoors
  • Disconnect the light
  • Remove all jets inserts
  • Drain the pipes using a "Shop-Vac" type vacuum cleaner
  • Make sure that the valves located on either end of the pipes remain open
  • Clean acrylic surfaces using ourTRÉVI RÉSINE-NET
  • Pour TRÉVI ANTIGEL non-toxic antifreeze in the pipes to overflowing
  • Install the spa cover
  • Cover with plywood
  • Make sure everything is secure enough to withstand winter conditions
  • Cover the spa with a polyethylene or vinyl sheet
  • If your cartridges need replacing, nite the model number before discarding them
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The spa cover can sustain a maximum weight of 100 lbs. You will need to remove the snow regularly in winter.
