Choosing a location for your spa

The location of the spa is very important and several factors should be considered in making the choice.

Always check local regulations before installing a spa. A precise knowledge of the location of buildings, fences, barriers, electric lines and plumbing must be taken into account in deciding where to locate your spa.

You should choose a location which will enhance your lifestyle and your home. A spa will become an integral part of your life and, consequently, should be placed in the best location possible.

The position of the spa in relation to the surrounding terrain must be considered. If the spa is close to trees or directly underneath one, not only will it be deprived of the sun, but you will also have to remove leaves and other debris.

Dominant winds can also deposit dirt and debris into the spa and wind blowing over the surface of an uncovered spa will cool the water. So it is a good idea to protect the spa from direct winds.

Limited responsibility (indoor spa)
Trevi does not recommend installing a portable spa inside, unless the installation is performed properly in a room provided with a tile or concrete floor with a ground level drain.

  • The carpet or walls could be damaged if water is splashed or if you have a mechanical failure.
  • If the spa is installed inside in a location without any glass, a dehumidifier will be sufficient.
  • A spa with a cabinet is designed with its own support. No reinforcement or additional support is required if the spa is installed on a solid and level base that will support the weight when it is filled.

Installing a spa outside (concrete pad)
  • A concrete pad is recommended for installation of your spa. An existing patio can be used, but if you wish to construct a new base, you should choose a flat, perfectly level location.
  • After having removed the surface earth, construct a square enclosure using four pieces of 2x4 lumber.
  • Make sure the surface is even. When the slab is hard, remove the 2x4's and complete the landscaping.
    Note:
Be sure to provide for drainage of the electrical parts compartment.

Installing a spa outside (stone dust)
    • Remove the grass, bring the ground to level with stone dust (not more than 2-3 inches) while leaving light exceeding each side of your spa (you ensure exact measurements of the spa). Be sure that the level is properly checked before installing the spa.
