How to Use Your Filter Pump

The pump is the central point in the filtering process. A powerful motor does not necessarily mean the water will be properly filtered. The most important thing is the flow.

The stronger and faster the flow, the less effective the filtration process will be. To ensure your pump functions well, you will need to empty the strainer. To do this:

  1. Turn off the pump;
  2. Block the hole in the skimmer that is farthest away in the pool;
  3. Turn the filter dial to "Close" or "Test";
  4. Remove the cover;
  5. Remove the dirt and rinse using a garden hose;
  6. Replace the cover
  7. Turn the filter dial back to "Filter";
  8. Turn on the pump;
  9. If the pump draws air, check to make sure the cover is closed properly and that nothing is preventing the water from flowing into the skimmer.
NOTE:
When performing maintenance on the motor or pump, while they are open, take the opportunity to replace joints or washers, etc., if necessary.
